Tatemusubi 縦結び
Known in English as the granny knot, this knot is often used as to form single column ties at the start of Shibari patterns.
Tanuki tsuri 狸吊り
'raccoon suspension'. This refers to a demanding suspension where the person is tied by each hand and leg, and the four lines are tied off to a suspension point allowing for acrobatically movements and changes of position.
Takatekote 高手小手 たかてこて
A literal translation is 'high/upper hands small/lower hands'. This name tends to be applied to Gotes/Box ties which are tied using three ropes. Some particualar Ryu refer to the Gote tied in their particular style as a a Takatekote - and this is sometimes shortned to 3TK.
Takashi Tsujimura 辻村猛
1921-1987 highly influential figure in the Shibari world, having been responsible for the the shibari content of the Kitan Club magazine which influenced many up and coming riggers. Nawapedia describes him as having established modern Kibaku Art.
Takezao 竹竿
'Bamboo pole'. Bamboo poles are often used as hardpoints for suspension, and are sometimes incorporated into rope patterns.
Tawara shibari 俵縛り
'straw bale binding'. This term is sometimes used to refer to ties which mumify the person being tied as if they were a bail of straw.
