DESCRIPTION

Hand-made double-ply treated sandstrom Jute, medium lay ropes. Length approx 8 meters/26ft, diameter approximately 6mm.  Suitable for beginners and professionals. Double ply ropes are more hardwearing than single ply and so are partially good for people new to Shibari and people who tie a lot.  For details of the diffrence between single and double ply ropes see this article.

ABOUT

This double ply jute rope has been hand washed, dried, and then dry-treated to remove the majority of the 'fuzzies' - this produces a much softer jute rope than is usual. All my ropes are suitable for vegans; I do not supply beeswax, nor use it in my rope treatment.  For those new to Jute, read my handy guide here on jute rope.

Ready to use immediately, although some people choose to add rope paste or oil treatment. All ropes finished with traditional overhand knots, should you wish to customise your ropes, i have included a care guide here for information on how to do so.

Orders of three ropes or more receive a pair of free EMT shears (limited to one pair per order).

Please note that this rope is hand dyed; as such there will be colour variations between batches. The dye does not fully penetrate the dense fibres of jute ropes and so there is likely to be a lighter patch around end knots.

ROPE SUITABLE FOR:

This rope is suitable for shibari and kinbaku, and can also be used for bedroom bondage.

Jute and hemp rope has traditionally been used for suspension. It is advisable to use synthetic hemp for uplines as it is not possible to provide an accurate weight test for natural fibre ropes, and any test on a rope's strength only reveals its strength on the day of testing.

All my ropes are finished with overhand knots, it is important to periodically tighten these knots. For other options on how to finish rope ends see my handy guide on rope ends.
