Daruma Shibari 達磨 縛り
arms and legs are bound tightlyso the person resembles a Daruma doll, can also be used to refer to a suspended position in which the legs are raised and the arms and tied under the legs. Daruma is the Japanese name for the Buddist monk Bodhidharma who started Zen, and for the doll named after them, Legend tells us that he meditated for so long that he no longer needed his arms and legs

"disciple," "apprentice," or "student" . Someone who studies a specific skill under a master, in Shibari this term tends to be used for an individual who has been accepted as an apprentice by a renowned rigger with the aim of being able to teach there style.
Do Nawa 胴縄
'Do' means torso, which gives us a translate of 'torso rope', however, the term is mostly used to refer to a waist rope that is used to provide extra support and take some of the load of the torso during a suspension.

A Dojo is a hall or place for intensive learning often the name is used for places teaching martial arts. A number of rope teachers operate Rope Dojo's where students can come and study shibari.
Double Column Tie
Two limbs or things tied together with the rope passing between them before being tied off with a knot.
Doubled Rope
Shibari uses a folded rope, where tying starts at the bight (middle) of the rope. This is sometimes refered to as a folded rope, or a double rope.
