Overhand knot
Name:
Overhand knot / Tomemusubi (止め結び)
Type:
Knot
Use:
Used in Shibari to secure a new rope onto a rope pattern, and sometimes used in the place of a no-dome.
The first image shown below is of the overhand knot which has been pulled tight to lock it in place, in the second version the same knot has been tied but the ropes have been laid flat and not pulled tight so it can serve as a decorative feature (it does not however hold the rope as securely in place). The second style is sometimes used for fusion bondage.
Overhand knot tutorial

3. Bring the working end over the standing end, and then use your finger to pull it through the loop you have formed
Pull on the working end to tighten and you have completed your knot.
