How to Tie: Agura Shibari あぐら 縛り

  Agura Shibari Jute Bondage Rope
Name:

Agura Shibari あぐら 縛り means Cross-legged binding, and refers to any rope pattern that secures in this position. This can involve very beautful and complex rope patterns, ties suitable for suspension, or simple ties suitable for beginners. A tutorial for one of the simplest forms of this tie is provided below.

Tutorial

1. Wrap your rope around the ankles twice. Make sure you leave this pretty loose as this is an area where there are sensitive nerves. Tie a single column tie. I have used a Somerville bowline in this example.

2. Form two wraps around the waist (bring the rope around the waist twice).

3. Bring the rope under then over the the waist wraps

.

4. Bring the rope through the ankle cuff

5. Tie a half hitch to secure the rope pattern.

6. Your tie is complete! This pattern opens up some fun play opportunities if you then lay your partner on their back.
