Used

Often used for chest harnesses/Gotes, this friction is used to secure a rope to a T junction. The picture below shows an L Friction tied against a Ram's head friction.

How to tie

1. Bring your rope under the stem.

 

2. Reverse the tension and use your finger to hook the rope under itself and the wrap.

3.Bring the working end back down, and then under the stem.
  

Your L Friction is complete! The friction hasnt been pulled tight in these photos to make it clearer how to tie it, but as with all frictions it should be compacted down to hold everything in place.
